We have a very simple set of criteria for evaluating core credit. Send us the core. That’s it. As long as it isn’t destroyed by fire, or pulled from the bottom of the ocean, we’re happy. We always pay return freight on cores and we never charge back, regardless of the extent of the failure. If the core has been disassembled, that’s fine. We don’t expect you to make a decision on replacing a component without inspecting and evaluating it first. And once it’s disassembled, there’s really no reason to have you reassemble it. We do ask that you send us the entire core, protect the parts from additional damage during shipping and keep them out of the weather.
We are always amazed at the lengths to which some companies go, to exclude customers from receiving their core credit. Our belief is that if you’re going to be in this business, you should have some experience in the types of failures that occur to specific components. We are specialists in the products we sell and we factor the likelihood of total loss failures into our pricing. We don’t offer an attractive price to get your business and then make it up by charging you back for a damaged core. We figure if the core wasn’t damaged, you wouldn’t be looking for a replacement in the first place. Call us. We’re “core friendly”.
